Nagoya City, Japan.

2026 March 27th.

The Niigata Philippine Society (NPS) Officers successfully conducted an official visit to the Consulate General of the Philippines in Nagoya on March 27–28, 2026, marking an important step in strengthening institutional and community partnerships.

During the courtesy call, the Officers met with the newly appointed Consul General, Shirlene C. Mananquil. The meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the organization, highlight its mission, and share its key initiatives and accomplishments over the years. The NPS also expressed its anticipation for the upcoming Consular Mission in Niigata and its hope for a future visit from the Consul General.

Following the meeting, the Officers attended the signing ceremony between SMILES Mobile Remittance and the Filipino Community Central Japan (FCCJ), formalizing a major sponsorship for the upcoming Fiesta Filipino Chubu 2026 scheduled on June 13–14. The event will celebrate Philippine Independence and showcase Filipino culture in the Chubu region.

On the second day, the Officers participated in the first General Membership Meeting of FCCJ, where NPS proudly serves as a founding member. The NPS President, currently holding the role of FCCJ Auditor, presented a report on the organization’s financial standing, reflecting transparency and accountability within the federation.

This visit marked a meaningful milestone, as it was the first time NPS Officers met fellow leaders and members of FCCJ in person. Despite the short duration, the trip proved highly productive, reinforcing collaboration and shared goals among Filipino organizations in the region.

The Niigata Philippine Society looks forward to building deeper partnerships with its FCCJ family and continuing its mission of unity, service, and cultural connection across the Chubu Region.
