Niigata Philippine Society Officers visit Joetsu City Mayor

Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture.

On March 5, 2025, Niigata Philippine Society (NPS) officers, led by President Stevenson Alloso, visited Joetsu City Mayor Kanta Nakagawa to introduce the organization and its mission. The delegation included Head of Secretariat Monica Ueno and Treasurer Junichi Ueno.

NPS highlighted its role as the only Filipino Community Organization in Niigata Prefecture recognized by the Consulate General of the Philippines in Nagoya, and its efforts to foster unity among Filipinos while promoting positive relationships with the local Japanese community. The meeting emphasized future collaboration between the Joetsu City Office, the Joetsu International Association (JOIN), and NPS.

The Mayor praised NPS’s work in bridging cultures and strengthening community ties. This visit marks the start of a promising partnership aimed at enhancing cultural exchange and mutual support.
