The Consulate General of the Philippines in Nagoya recently held its first Consular Mission in Niigata Prefecture, led by Deputy Consul General Jerome Castro. This initiative marked a significant step in providing essential services to the Filipino community in the area. During the mission, the consular team offered a range of services including passport renewals, civil registration, and notarial services. A total of 30 applicants benefited from these services, reflecting the strong demand for consular support among Filipinos residing in Niigata and its neighbouring prefectures. This mission was made possible through the efforts of the officers of the Niigata Philippine Society, who made a courtesy call on Consul General Ecraela last year. During that meeting, the Consul General committed to sending a mission to serve the community, fulfilling that promise with this successful event. The positive feedback from attendees highlights the importance of such outreach efforts, and both the Consulate and the Niigata Philippine Society look forward to organizing more missions in the future to better serve the needs of Filipinos in the region.
